The Other Day - Energy Vampires

The other day I ran into an old friend that some would
call an "Energy Vampire". Some people bring unexpected
lightness and comfort to your life. They crackle with
energy, practically electrify you with their presence.
And then there are those who leave you feeling stressed
out. Or guilty. Or exhausted down to your very last
molecule. I call them energy vampires, and obnoxious or
meek, they come in all forms. The sob sister, for one,
always considers herself the victim. The world is always
against her, and she'll recount every horrible thing
that has happened to her, wallowing in every perceived
slight. The charmer is a constant talker or joke-teller
who has to be the center of attention. The blamer, on
the other hand, doles out endless servings of guilt. And
then there's the drama queen, the co-worker who claims
she almost died from a high fever or the neighbor who
lives in extremes of emotion-life is unbelievably good
or horrifically bad.
No matter which type of energy vampire you're dealing
with, you're allowed to walk away. Many of us find this
really hard to do. We're afraid of being thought of as
impolite; we don't want to offend people. But there are
plenty of ways to remove yourself from a killing
conversation. When leaving isn't an option, you can
still maintain your energy level by making a few minor
adjustments.

anything. The trouble dissolves, and you are left in a
state of greater energy, personal empowerment and inner
peace.
TAT Online Video Sessions can simply and profoundly
change your health and well-being. Each TAT Online Video
Session consists of seven easy steps. In each step, you
put your attention on a statement while you do the TAT
pose for about one to two minutes. It's that easy.

How Stuff Works - Googling
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you hear that Google is planning to go public
sometime soon? That's one stock that I will definitely
look at. Here are some of my favorite tips & tricks that
make "googling" much easier. You can also install
Googles toolbar and it effectively blocks annoying pop-
ups and also fills in forms for you.
1. Place quotes around phrases that must be searched
together. For example: If you put quotes around the
words, "Info Guru," Google won't waste time looking for
Web pages with the words "info" and "Guru." 2. If you
want any word screened out, put a hyphen right before
the word. If you happen to be looking for -dolphins, you
won't haft to weed through thousands of Miami Dolphins
pages. 3. Phrase your questions in the form of an
answer. For example: Instead of typing in, 'What is the
average rainfall in Atlanta?" try typing, "The average
rainfall in Atlanta is." 4. Google is also a global
White Pages and Yellow Pages. Search for "phonebook":
followed by the name, city and state of the business you
are looking for and Google will automatically display
the address and phone number.

Feng Shui Tip of the Month

Move your furniture around, it's fun to create something
new and exciting to come home to. You will also change
the flow of energy, which is good to do every so often.
Remember when placing furniture, less is always best.
Too much furniture can make us feel cramped and can
restrict the flow of our opportunities.
It is best to have bookshelves with doors on the
front. But if you don't then either create make shift
doors or move all the books forward so they are flush
with the front of the shelf. Have a garage sale and
clean it out at the same time. You will not only make
some money, you will improve your ability to think more
clearly. And/or you will have more helpful people
assisting you along your life's path.
Spirituality in Sports - Being in the Zone
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Terrance P. O'Toole of Lynchburg College did a study
that found that participants in sports sometimes report
experiencing a very positive state of consciousness in
which total engrossment, effortlessness, and
transcendence of self can be achieved independent of
performance. To date, it appears only one study has been
done testing the relationship between a related state of
transcendence, spirituality, and being in this positive
state even though this state (being "in the zone") has
sometimes been linken to a spiritual state..
The purpose for this exploratory study was to compare
the relationship and differences between spirituality
and being "in the zone" among Division 2 and Division 3
student athletes. Results concluded that there was a
significant relationship between being more spiritual in
sports and being "in the zone" more often. Future
investigation of these concepts should consider the type
of sport participation, sensitivity toward being in the
zone as well as gender.
